Weblog entry December 3rd to December 9th Staying with great hosts and exploring WA

The time in Perth was just great because of my hosts Susan and Patrick who took very good care of me and saw to it that I always had something to eat…
Perth is a great city, because it is not to big and has a nice atmosphere about it. My Economists friends may also be interested to hear that this is a booming economic area due to mining as Australia is the biggest exporter of coal in the world...

To make the most of my time in Western Australia I took a 4 day tour up the West Coast.

What we saw and did:
Ø The Pinnacles (basically hard sand in the middle of nowhere)
Ø Sunrise in Kalbarri (at 5:45 in the morning before a hike!)
Ø Upfront Abseiling near the Z bend Gorge
Ø Nature`s Window
Ø Dolphin feed in Monkey Mia (including one month old dolphin baby)
Ø Endless areas of nothing
Ø Shell beach (no sand, just 110km`s of shells)
Ø 3 billion year old Stromatolites (looked like rocks)
Ø Greenough Wildlife Park (including hand feeding most of the animals)
