Weblog entry November 22nd Townsville

As we got further down the coast the towns got emptier and less touristy. Townsville was no exception, but they have the best aquarium I have ever been in with a 2.500.000 liter water tank. Here we found out that the deadliest animal on the planet is not a tiger, lion or shark but the transparent box jellyfish that can be found along the shore at the moment. This little creature is the reason why you can`t swim at all the beaches along the shore during summer.
If you get in contact with one of them the tentacles shoot at least 11.000 poisonous stings into your body and with more than ten percent of your body infected you will die within the next three minutes…

While in Townsville we also got to see an impressive sunset from Castle Hill. The best sunset so far in Australia!
