Weblog 24.1-27.1. Amazing Thailand First stop: Bangkok

It´s time for a new adventure. This time Dad is going to join me for the exploration of Thailand. Travelling with my father is totally different from my backpacker life so far. Absolute luxury and no backpacking are what you get when you travel with Mr. Lothar Brunst. Which is good on the one side, as you get your own room and fresh towels but bad on the other as you don`t see as much from the country and its people.

Our hotel the Pathumwan Princess directly in the huge MBK shopping center

Our room. No comparison to a dorm room in a hostel....

Our first stop was in Bangkok the vibrant capital of Thailand. 10 Million people live here and the chaos on the street is comparative to Bombay. On our first day we visited the Emerald Budha and the Grand Palace, the cultural highlights of Bangkok.

The second day I spent shopping. Bangkok has shopping malls that would put most American and European Shopping malls to shame. 7 gigantic floors are a minimum here and one shopping mall is connected to another. This can drive shopping maniacs merely insane!
So after I spent most of my money we went for a lovely dinner in an excuisite restaurant on the 52(!) Floor of a new built hotel. What a view!

The third day was filled with more shopping and a lovely dinner cruise.
