Weblog entry 21.1.07 Grade 5 rafting in Rotorua

Grade 5 is the highest you can do on a commercial tour and is guaranteed to bring your heart to a stop.

This morning the highest commercially used waterfall in the world for white water rafting was our goal. Rafting the Kaikoura river is nothing for people that can`t swim or are afraid of spending some time in the “washing machine”. The highlight of this raft was the 7 m waterfall that we were about to fall down. If the boat flips here you will be pulled down by 2 tons of water per second. Luckily, we did not flip, although the boat was completely under water for some seconds.

Great fun!
