Weblog entry 31.12.06/1.1.2007 New Year’s in Sydney

The biggest fireworks on the planet were awaiting us tonight, so we were all very excited when the big day finally came. As we wanted to have a very good spot, we met up early brought everything you need for a good picnic and then headed out to the other side of the harbour. From here we had a fantastic view of the harbour bridge and the city skyline. The hours passed quickly and before we knew it the first fireworks were in the air. Was something wrong with our watches? No, this was just the kids fireworks at 9pm, so the big one was still coming.

Three hours later the majestic fireworks finally started and we welcomed the New Year. Everybody was very happy and after Midnight has past Law, Bob and I hugged everyone that passed, till there were no people left. Then the long journey home began, as there were no ferries running. I fell into bed at 3:30 totally exhausted.
