Weblog entry 4.1.-10.1.2007 KIWI North Island

The first days here in New Zealand have been so busy that I didn`t get a chance to update my Weblog. There is just way too much to see here and we are in a constant battle with time.

That is why I´ll have to compress the best of the North Island into this Weblog update.

What did we see and do?

Auckland
- A mini version of Sydney with its own flavour.

Hamilton Botanic Gardens
- One of the best gardens I have been in. A lot of love and work was put in these gardens. They have special sections with Indian, English, American, Italian and other forms of Gardens

Waitomo
- The attraction in Waitomo are the glow-worm gaves. The tour I did included 30m abseiling into a cave, millions of glow-worms in the cave, caving and climbing back up

Rotorua
- Roturua offer Geysers, Maori culture and Thermal pools. My favourite: Swimming in the hot natural pools and Kerosene Creek.

Taupo
- Huka Falls are the main attraction in Taupo. 200.000l of water per second travel through these massive falls!

As Law and I are going back to the North Island to hike the Tongariro crossing (one of the best day hikes in the world according to National geographic) there are more highlights to come from the North Island.
